How CoolSculpting works
CoolSculpting is a brand of cryolipolysis. A provider places an applicator on the area and cools the fat under your skin to a temperature that damages fat cells but leaves the skin alone. Over the next few weeks, your body gradually clears those cells away.
Consultation
A provider looks at the area, tells you whether you're a good candidate and gives you a written quote.
Treatment
Each area usually takes about 35–75 minutes. Most people read, work or scroll on their phone while it runs.
Results
Changes can start around week 3. The biggest difference usually shows at 2–3 months, and some areas need a second round.
What does CoolSculpting cost in Dayton?
Your price depends on how many areas you treat, the size of the applicator and how many sessions you need. These are typical national ranges. Your consultation quote is the number that counts.
| Treatment area | Typical range per session |
|---|---|
| Chin / submental | $600 – $1,200 |
| Arms (per side) | $600 – $1,000 |
| Flanks / love handles (pair) | $1,200 – $2,000 |
| Abdomen | $1,200 – $2,500 |
| Thighs (pair) | $1,500 – $3,000 |
Many local med spas offer package pricing, seasonal promotions or financing such as CareCredit or Cherry. It's worth asking about these during your consultation.
Are you a good candidate?
Usually a good fit
You're close to your goal weight but have stubborn pockets of fat that won't budge with diet and exercise, and you can pinch the area.
Usually not a fit
You want to lose a lot of weight, or you're dealing mostly with loose skin or visceral (deep belly) fat. Other options may work better for you.
Talk to a doctor first
You have cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, or you're pregnant.
Frequently asked questions
Does CoolSculpting hurt?
Most people feel strong cold and pulling for the first few minutes, and then the area goes numb. Afterward, it's common to feel sore, achy or numb for a few days to a few weeks.
How is it different from liposuction?
Liposuction is surgery. It removes more fat at once but involves anesthesia and recovery time. CoolSculpting is non-invasive and has little downtime, but the results are more modest and happen gradually.
Are the results permanent?
Fat cells that are destroyed don't come back. However, the fat cells you still have can grow if you gain weight, so keeping your weight steady helps you keep your results.
How many sessions will I need?
Many people need one or two sessions per area. Your provider will recommend a plan during your consultation.
Is this service really free?
Yes. Participating providers pay us for introductions, so you never pay us anything. You're under no obligation to book with any provider.
